16th IRF World Meeting

May 25-28, 2010 -  Lisbon Congress Centre, Portugal

 

The 16th IRF World Meeting was held in Lisbon from 25 to 28 May 2010. Roads and their users, the role of roads in trade and life, roads and their impact on society; these are issues needing answers, both now and in the future. The aim of the 16th IRF World Meeting was to provide a forum for debates, discussions and proposals leading to tomorrow’s solutions.

2010 ITSA Annual Meeting & Exposition

May 3-5, 2010 - Houston, Texas

 

The event was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas from May 3-5, 2010. From May 3-5, attendees had access to more than 50 sessions with industry leaders to learn more about cost-effective technologies and strategies to reduce traffic crashes, congestion and CO2 emissions, finance infrastructure projects, measure and manage system performance, and address other transportation challenges.

This is reflected in the proceedings of this well-established meeting which demonstrates the steady growth and research into urban transport systems. The variety of topics covered by this conference are of primary importance for analyzing the complex interaction of the urban transport environment and for establishing action strategies for transport and traffic problems.

IntelliDrive Safety Program Workshop

Jul. 20-22, 2010 - Hilton Chicago Northbrook, Chicago, Illinois

 

The U.S. Department of Transportation, Research and Innovative Technology Administration, ITS Joint Program Office held a three-day workshop to present and discuss IntelliDriveSM safety technical and policy research roadmaps. The first day provided a detailed discussion of the technical research activities in the major IntelliDrive safety program initiatives. Days 2 and 3 focused on the policy issues as well as policy vs technical trade-offs with a focus on the V2V environment.
