ITS Midwest is pleased to announce that the Professional Capacity Building (PCB) workshop/class titled "Improving Highway Safety with ITS" is now open for registration. This one-day workshop/class will be conducted on Wednesday, May 22 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m. at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). ANL is an active member of ITS Midwest and was instrumental in the initial formation of our ITS America Chapter.
This workshop is an abbreviated version of the two-day National Highway Institute course aimed at increasing awareness of the potential to gain highway safety improvements through the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies at the highway system, mainstream (highway improvement project) and standalone project level, and accelerate the introduction and evaluation of ITS applications by increasing the recognition of their contribution to making highways safer. The course draws from the participants own experiences deploying ITS for highway safety improvements and reviews procedures and requirements of safety strategic planning and the ITS deployment process.
The workshop, sponsored by ITS Midwest, is free for ITS Midwest members, while nonmembers will be charged $30 registration fee per participant. Register today!
