ITE Engineer Shadowing Day July 15, 2010

Engineers are needed for the IL ITE Engineer Shadowing Day on July 15th, 2010. Return the form to volunteer and help out.

With limited availability of internships and entry-level jobs in the current economy, the Illinois Section of ITE wants to get students exposed to career experiences and networking opportunities. Students will be paired up with Chicagoland professionals for a day to get insight into real engineering careers. Participating IL ITE members will be assigned a student to be their Mentor for a Day. Suggested activities for you and your Student Shadow include:
- Walk through the technical and non-technical aspects of a current or recent project
- Attend a project meeting
- Teach your Student Shadow about the resources that you use to complete real-life projects
- Tell your Student Shadow about how your firm obtains projects
- Talk to your Student Shadow about how your career evolved and answer your Shadows questions about an engineering career in transportation
At the end of the work day, all are invited to join Illinois ITE at the annual Summer Social event for networking, food, and fun! Admission to the Summer Social event is free for Student Shadows and reduced for participating Mentors.
