National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission has released a series of technical issue papers relating to a broad array of surface transportation topics that were prepared to assist in the Commission's work. According to the U.S. Federal Highway Administration, the papers were designed to give an overview of the current data and literature, and to synthesize a "state-of-the-practice" consensus on issues relevant to the Commission's charge. The final report of the Commission was released in January 2008 (related ITS Midwest News Release).
