New ITS Standard Funded by RITA's ITS Program Approved and Available
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) are pleased to announce that the Advanced Transportation Controller (ATC) Application Programming Interface (API) Standard v02.06b is now an approved standard. Funded by RITA’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Program, the standard is available as a free download at the ITE website (see below).
The ATC API Standard provides users with a standardized method for interacting with a controller unit’s application programs within the transportation system. This standard will ensure better interoperability between application programs that share the same resources but are supported by different operating systems.
